Julie trained at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and worked as a professional dancer and choreographer in Europe for 8 years.  Her first taste of Pilates was at the age of 14 when she suffered a lower back injury that began to restrict how much dance training she could do. Pilates changed the way she exercised forever!

She became a certified Pilates teacher in 2002 after training with Polestar Pilates UK and the Pilates Institute. Julie is the founder of Bodyworks Pilates and opened The Bodyworks Pilates Studio at The Belmore Centre in January 2017.

Prior to this, Julie was the Pilates and contemporary dance teacher and Rehabilitation Leader at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts for over 14 years, where she worked closely with the Physiotherapy department on their rehabilitation programme. Julie has also been a mentor for Polestar Pilates UK and continues to mentor Pilates teachers in training through her classes and 1-2-1's in order for them to gain experience.

Julie is happy to work alongside other healthcare professionals and welcomes referrals from Doctors, Physiotherapists and other practitioners. A self confessed course junkie, she is always looking to further her knowledge.  She is qualified to teach Pilates mat work (including all small equipment) and reformer, advanced back care, post spinal surgery, pre/post natal, osteoporosis, shoulder pathologies, neurological conditions, Oov, and all things foot related! Following breast cancer and a fractured spine, the need for correct movement and rehabilitation was reinforced.
Debbie chose APPI as her Pilates training provider as they have a ‘therapeutic’ flavour to their Pilates training, and this fitted in really well with Debbie’s interests and passion for health and the human body.

Caz continues to follow her passion in Bodyworks and Yoga by working with some of the leading Teachers in Yoga, anatomy, fascial research and movement.

Laura Munday

Yoga Teacher

Laura remembers leaving her first yoga class having noticed that for that one hour she wasn't being completely controlled by rushing and racing thoughts. She left feeling calm, energised, excited and taller. She instantly fell in love with the practice and  has continued to practice on an almost daily basis since. She realised she was learning forgiveness, patience, self love and acceptance with herself both on and off the mat.

She is motivated by the thought of helping, inspiring and serving other people in the same way and believes she has experienced some of the transformative and healing powers of yoga. This is what lead her to study for her 200 hour Sun Power Yoga training.

She wants to encourage people to step on the mat and to then keep returning to the practice to gain a sense of awareness and strength in both the mind and body.

Following her passion for linking breath to movement in a form of moving meditation, Laura has now gone on to complete her 300 hour Vinyasa Flow training in India. She likes to practice and teach a variety of styles of yoga to keep it authentic, balanced, creative and most importantly fun!''
